Okay, fine: I get why noone went crazy for the spin-networks piece, but this is pretty cool... Found this when I was looking for help for 5NO- it's apparently really big in post-graduate circles and a lot of you've probably heard about it before, but I figured I'd turn you on to it anyway. It's called 'intute' and is a collection of some of the best free PDF maths books on the internet (well the maths section is- there are lots of sections), plus some other stuff- the link is Check it out, it's quite a haul... |

That's pretty sweet. A potential money saver as well. |

Oh, and one other cool thing (don't technically know whether I should be doing this but): here's a link to join the maths department's post graduate mailing list 'maths-students', just fill out the little form to say: "I'm only a second/third year but I'm ever so awesome at maths and love it so much", and they'll be sure to pop you on. You get a lot of spam about conferences & stipends in Bognor, but you also get a fulll daily update of colloquia and specialised lectures (all of which, us lowly undergrads are welcome to attend). This week you missed Mario lecturing about surfaces with certain positivity conditions on their curvature being homeomorphic to spheres, you missed explicit hass weil zeta computations and you're going to miss the arithmetic of plane cubics. |
