http://elevatorlady.ca/index.html lets you do $ \LaTeX $ in powerpoint etc. If only it worked in InDesign :-(

Aurora can be used to insert equations into any program that supports Object Linking and Embedding (OLE). Typically, if an application has an Insert Object... or a similarly-named menu command, it supports OLE and therefore works with Aurora. Examples include OpenOffice, Nota Bene, CorelDRAW® and many others.

InDesign does not support OLE or Quark XTensions. Consequently, when you open files that contain OLE or Quark XTensions graphics, those graphics will not appear in the InDesign document
