Does anyone else think that it would be really useful to have a crash course in this? Since there are no solutions issued for the example sheets and no solutions to the past paper its pretty hard to check your progress and see if you're actually on the right track! |

Yes, we are struggling with that. You see, although we haven't any crash courses in the pipeline right now, we are trying to organise a whole series of revision groups for a variety of first and second year modules. Unfortunately, PDEs is proving a bugger. Last year the course was taught so badly that there isn't a third-year who understands the stuff. Before that the course was run by the physics department. Our best hope seems to be to find a willing fourth-year math/phys student. Maybe we'll manage it, keep your ears peeled and your fingers crossed. Colin of the Academic Support Team. |

How about posting some solutions to the question sheets online? |

I think that's fairly unlikely to happen given it would be a significant ammount of work to go through a lot of questions and write up good answers (and only doing a few is probably not going to be extremely useful). However, if you get stuck on a question or something like that, you can post it in the maths section of the forums and I'm sure someone will try to answer it pretty quickly. |

Does it seem particularly likely that Jose would be willing to put on a revision lecture and go over last years paper or something like that? |

I don't really know since I haven't taken the module myself, but I suppose you could e-mail him to suggest one (you can find his address on mathstuff). |
