I went to sleep at 12 last night and am currently drinking an extra (6x) strong coffee to avoid falling asleep... I feel dirty.

My name is Orry. I got out of bed at 3 today. I regularly close my eyes for extended peiods of time during lectures. Actually this is all to do with not going to bed at a reasonable time so I don't know what I'm doing in here.

I think the term for chronic oversleeping is "hypersomnia".

Narcolepsy is a version of that as well (that's why I proposed to create a "Narcoleptic Mathematicians" thread a long time ago :P).

I'm up at 8.45am despite my first lecture being at 2pm. Just had breakfast and now I'm revising for Japanese exam. Someone should give me a medal.

Your dad was over, that's cheating. You were up at 9 to demonstrate what a good student you were, waking up on time despite not having a lecture.

Besides, Alex went to sleep at 11 or something yesterday. Apparently he can't handle real ales as well as he thinks. :P

Oh my God, my timing is awful. Down with the union and their un-democratic referenda!

un-democratic referenda

Why's that then?

Quite simple really, a referendum is supposed to be a fair way of assessing the opinions of the electorate. And yet the union is adverstising the referendums with a preference expressed on the posters. This somewhat undermines the idea of of a fair method of collecting opinions. We've seen that advertising works (ie. Tommo got voted Pres) and the Council is holding a referendum, just so they can use the edge they have on advertising to validate their policies.

If the grammar is poor or it doesn't make much sense, it's because I have a headache. I got chucked out the union by an a****hole steward and I'm pretty pissed off, it ruined my whole f***ing evening.

Heh, I got kicked out (and banned) from the union as well, but to be fair I totally accept why (went in the girls toilets, silly idea, only did it since I was the wrong side of tipsy), and hopefully it shouldn't be too big a deal (fingers crossed) - I made a good enough impression on the union staff that I hope I'm ok...

Thanks Xedi :D :D

ALso Jamie, wtf? You went there because the male's was closed, right? I was told to use the girl's toilet, which I did, without incident. And I think the guy who told me was from the union.

Also I got the phone number of a cute-hot chemistry PhD student while at festival, IMSOAWESOME

Sorry that the time I'm posting contradicts the nature of the thread :(

Getting that pissed is bad :p kind of... But then again I've gotten even more drunk with the Maths Society, so is Maths bad? O_o

Still, I think I deserve a medal for being the most sober person kicked out of the union for being drunk.

Can I get a medal for forgetting more stuff this year than Cosmin has learned in his entire time at uni.

Jamie and Planktonboy can you 2 actually go to the exec meeting due to the union bannedness?

Looks like I've missed out again. I'm much too sensible nowadays. Centurion challenge social anyone?

Happy birthday planktonboy and i hope, for your health, no one found out it was your birthday this morning. Can you even do takedown?

I ended up having 5 pints at takedown this morning anyway, only the crap from Purity was left though. I'm not banned from the union though, but I'm glad that the handover social isn't in the Uni. I can even walk home from the City arms, which is good.

So does this count as the new insomniac thread as well?

No >.< Having a somniac thread was an awesome idea. Everyone in the society stays up late, it ain't fun any more.
