A few years ago, some of our members ran a hugely successful 'Maths Café', where undergraduates can bring mathematics that they are struggling to understand (usually assignment sheets) and find someone who can help them.
Since then, Maths Café has become one of the key events of the society, run by our Academic Support officer. We will carry on the good work that has been done in the past few years, and provide the relaxed, casual environment in which people can work together to answer their maths questions. That means, we'll have a small selection of food and drinks on offer to those who show up.
Maths Café is mostly aimed at first years and second years, in that they should be the ones with the questions, and at the higher years, in that they should be the ones with the answers!
We are running weekly Maths Cafés on Wednesdays, 1pm-4pm, during terms 1 and 2. In term 3, Revision Café takes over, on both Mondays and Wednesdays, 1pm-4pm.
